The National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges (NCJFCJ) has elected Jeanne Karadanis, a lifelong humanitarian, to the Board of Directors.

“Jeanne is committed to help make the world a better place,” said Judge Peggy H. Walker, NCJFCJ President. “Her work and philanthropy in our hometown headquarters of northern Nevada will bring knowledgeable insights and expertise to our board and work of our organization.”

A longtime Nevadan, Karadanis serves in a variety of community and professional activities, and is currently serving on the board of the STEP2 Reno, a program for women struggling with substance abuse. The program is unique in that it provides a residential format for women and their children. She has served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate, Board member of Planned Parenthood and was an advisory member of the Strategic Planning Panel for the Washoe County School District.

“I am honored to be a Board Director of the NCJFCJ, whose work I tremendously respect,” said Jeanne Karadanis. “I understand how the work of the NCJFCJ translates into local services and assistance for families and children. These coordinated efforts are necessary in improving outcomes for everyone.”
