RENO, Nev. – Grand Sierra Resort (GSR) continues to demonstrate its commitment to the Northern Nevada community by donating $15,000 each to Robert Mitchell Elementary School and Vaughn Middle School, both part of the Washoe County School District.
“GSR is dedicated to investing in the education and development of Northern Nevada’s youth,” said Shannon Keel, GSR general manager. “For us, it’s about building a stronger future for the community and ensuring students have the tools and opportunities to succeed. Supporting the Washoe County School District and these schools is truly an honor.”
Members of the GSR Cares committee personally delivered the donations to Robert Mitchell Elementary School and Vaughn Middle School during Wednesday morning assemblies. Previous donations include funds to help support additional needs for the schools including athletic uniforms, outdoor equipment, a book vending machine and more.
“GSR has been an incredible partner to Robert Mitchell Elementary, investing in students that go way beyond the classroom,” said Robert Mitchell Principal Kristen Conway.” “Thanks to this and previous donations, our students gain access to experiences and resources they might not have otherwise. GSR’s continued support shows their dedication to our school and the region, and we’re deeply thankful for this partnership.”
“This donation opens new doors for students,” said Vaughn Middle School Principal Amanda Lobkowicz. “GSR’s support of local schools reflects a genuine partnership that positively impacts students’ lives. We’re grateful for their continued commitment to the future of Vaughn Middle School students.”
These partnerships are made possible through GSR Cares, the charitable division of Grand Sierra Resort that supports local organizations and initiatives aimed at enhancing the region and benefiting those in need.
