
Reno – The Nevada Association of REALTORS (NVAR) has hired Dan Eckles, a former managing editor of the Sparks Tribune, as its communications, marketing and publishing specialist.
Eckles, a longtime resident of Northern Nevada, previously worked as a community liaison for the Washoe County School District and its Board of Trustees. Before that, he worked as the sports editor and then the managing editor of the daily newspaper serving Sparks, Nevada and surrounding areas.
At NVAR, he will oversee all internal and external communication and marketing initiatives for the largest professional association in Nevada, including its newsletter and website.
“Dan’s knowledge, abilities and experience make him uniquely qualified for this position,” said NVAR CEO Teresa McKee. “He’ll be a tremendous asset for NVAR and our members and we’re fortunate to have him.”
Eckles has more than 18 years of experience in journalism and in the communication industry. He earned a degree in journalism and mass communication from the University of Idaho. He also spent several years coaching youth and high school sports in Northern Nevada.
