Kelly Kitson joins eating disorder treatment center with extensive experience
RENO, Nev. – Specialty eating disorder treatment facility, Center for Hope of the Sierras, welcomes new Clinical Director Kelly Kitson to the team. Kitson previously worked with Center for Hope as a therapist and returns to the center with a wealth of experience.
After completing her undergraduate degree in Counseling and Educational Psychology, Kitson went on to receive her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy all at the University of Nevada, Reno. She then began her career at Sagewind Sober Living Home for seven years as a therapist providing counseling for families impacted by substance abuse concerns.
Following Sagewind, Kitson received training from Dr. Wendy Oliver-Pyatt, the eating disorder field leader, at Center for Hope. After employment at Center for Hope, Kitson’s passion for healing led her to practice therapy in HIV, mental health stabilization, substance abuse, sexual assault survivor, and trauma intervention treatment clinics at places like the Washoe County Municipal Court and Washoe County School District.
This extensive resume brings Kitson back to the Center for Hope, but devotion to healing and exuberant heart is what makes her a priceless member of the team.
“We couldn’t be more excited for Kelly to be back with us,” said Medical Director Dr. Dwarak Vuppalapati. “Her desire to spread health and welcoming spirit makes her the perfect addition to our treatment center. Our patients are in good hands with Kelly and we are overjoyed with her return.”
Center for Hope’s well-founded team of experts is strengthened by Kitson’s broad therapy experience, creating an ideal healing community.
